Educational
Opportunities for Your Organization
In
a shanty town on the outskirts of Lima, Peru a husband woke his sleeping
wife in the middle of the night. Reluctantly, the woman agreed to go.
The couple joined many members of the village outside the house of a
woman who had just been abused by her partner. Despite the late hour,
men, women and children waited together protecting the woman until her
abuser left the village. The community came together to take a stand
against the violence and support the victim a true coordinated
community response.
Domestic and sexual
violence affect our community. Some of our neighbors, friends, family,
co-workers, employees, clients and children are victims of domestic and
sexual violence. The first step in ending domestic and sexual violence
is education. By providing information on these issues to your organization,
you can help promote awareness and understanding in our community. Whether
your organization is a school, community group, health care agency, state
agency, other service provider or business, WomenSafe can provide you
with information about these important issues.
WomenSafe has developed and presented many diverse programs. Previous
