Six
ways you can help WomenSafe financially:
Twenty percent of WomenSafe's budget is the result of charitable contributions
from community residents and others who support its mission. There are
many ways to donate to WomenSafe (be sure to notify your employer of your
gift if they have a matching gift program).
1. Send your check or money order
to:
WomenSafe
PO Box 67
Middlebury, VT 05753
2. Donate appreciated gifts of stock
- Did you know that donating appreciated gifts of stock provide many benefits
to the donor? The basis of the charitable contribution is the current
fair market value of the stock not the cost basis. By donating the stock
to WomenSafe you can avoid paying any capital gains tax, because we are
an IRC Section 501(c)3 organization, making the transaction tax exempt.
3. Planned giving: Including WomenSafe
in your will can benefit you, your family and WomenSafe. Please call WomenSafe
for more information at 388-9180.
4. A friend has set up a donor fund
for the benefit of WomenSafe at the Vermont Community Foundation. Anyone
interested in contributing to this fund can mail their gift of any size
to: WomenSafe at PO Box 67, Middlebury VT 05753 and denoting that it is
a contribution to the donor fund. If you would like more information please
call Naomi at WomenSafe (802-388-9180) or the Vermont Community Foundation
(802-388-3355).
5. Contribute in-kind gifts from our
Wish List:
- Portable TV with
built-in VCR unit
- Office supplies,
such as copy paper, pens, legal pads, loose-leaf binders, etc.
- Children’s
art supplies
- New children’s
car seats
- New children’s
car booster seats
- Folding playpen
- New children’s
board games
- Gift certificates
of any amount to local stores, restaurants and gas stations
6. An easy way to donate! Donate clothing that you no longer use to Neat
Repeats on Bakery Lane in Middlebury. Designate WomenSafe as
the agency that will profit from the re-sale of your clothing. Also shop
at Neat Repeats for your used clothing needs; they support many of our
community agencies.
